GOODBYE JUNE

Goodbye June blends traditional black gospel intensity with raw, uncompromising rock, creating a musical experience as heart pounding and fiery as the Pentecostal tent revivals of their upbringing.

After guitarist Tyler Baker received the the devastating news that his brother, PFC Shane Baker, had been in a fatal car accident while home on leave, his cousins Brandon Qualkenbush and Landon Milbourn traveled to southern Indiana to ease the sting of unexpectedly losing a loved one. For the next few weeks, the three cousins began writing songs to cope with the tragedy. Eventually named Goodbye June in memory of their lost brother and cousin, the band packed up and moved to Nashville with Music City’s emerging rock scene in their cross hairs.

Since then Goodbye June has been the featured “artist of the week” at WRLT (Lightning 100), resulting in spins on “Daisy” from the forthcoming album which also recently won the international Unsigned Only grand prize beating out 8,000 other entries. The band continues to solidify their reputation as a hair-raising live act while touring throughout Europe, the southeast and midwest including shows at Live On The Green, Forecastle Festival, Midpoint Music Festival, Red River Revel Festival, and many more.

Goodbye June is currently putting the finishing touches on their sophomore album with Grammy-nominated producer Paul Moak. The band is fired up about the yet to be titled sophomore project, stating “we want this album to showcase our grit and soul by focusing on straight up rock ‘n roll.”
